DESCRIPTION

以前只知道数据科学岗位薪水高，你是否知道：数据科学今后的发展趋势是什么？持续发展潜力有多大？人才需求有多高？具体要求有哪些？如何准备？

我们想通过此次东部校园讲座，连接美国东西两边的数据科学家，大数据工程师，学生和专业人士，共同探讨大数据和数据科学的职业发展话题，为更多求职者提供帮助。

• 转行数据科学，需要怎样准备
• 数据相关工作的求职技巧

嘉宾介绍

Jason Geng

数据应用学院（Data Application Lab）创始人，Data Scientist 课程、Hadoop、Spark高级讲师；南加州大学Marshall商学院的客座讲师，教授数据科学和NoSQL数据库；数据科学协会（Data Science Association）发起人，组织了2016年SoCal Data Science Conference，2016 SVIEF 硅谷高创会担任“云计算和大计算”分论坛嘉宾。 创业前曾在Symantec工作八年任Senior Engineer，为大数据安全、数据科学领域专家。致力于帮助对数据科学感兴趣的同学发掘自己的兴趣和擅长之处，找到理想的工作。

Richard Xie
Principal Data Scientist at cyber-security company RSA. He is leading the research and product development utilizing data science to enhance enterprise cyber defense capabilities. He has more than ten years of experience in advanced analytics and predictive modeling. Richard is also the founder of website Flairar.com. Flairar is built upon the insights learned from the profiles of tens of millions of professionals, and the mission of Flairar.com is to help professionals find a better career. Richard is a devoted community builder. He created and have been hosting multiple WeChat groups focusing on data science, and always strive to advocate the education and practice of data science.

数据应用学院从2015年起与北美各高校联合主办“数据科学行业和职业发展公益”讲座，合作学校包括：USC、UCLA、UCRiverside、UCIrvine、UCSD、UCSB，University of Washington，University of Chicago, Northwestern University, UIUC, UMichigan, IIT，University of Texas at Dallas，TA&MU, Rice University等近二十所高校，受到同学广泛欢迎，累计到场学生和young professionals数千人。

2016年9月25，数据应用学院和Data Science Association（数据科学协会）联合主办南加地区首届数据科学行业峰会“2016 SoCal Data Science Conference”（www.socaldatascience.org)，到场24位演讲嘉宾，625位观众，涉及IT、金融、娱乐、政府、医药、交通、教育等8个行业，30余所公司。
