Topics: Transforming E-Governance through Data Science

Description:

The rapid pace of development of Information and Communication Technology has enabled the governments around the world to facilitate public services through the concept of Electronic Governance (E-Governance). It refers to delivery of the Government services to citizens, businesses and other government stakeholders through digital ways. Many developed countries have successfully been able to integrate E-Governance services; however, the developing countries are still undertaking efforts to provide electronic governance to its people. They often face challenges in implementing E-Governance services due to issues like poor infrastructure, inefficient decision making and lack of political readiness, which critically hampers social and economic growth of the nations. Moreover, evaluating the performance of E-Governance quantitatively in these nations is often challenging. With the data getting generated at a quick pace and ability getting developed for handling such large quantum of data, it becomes natural phenomenon for the government to apply data science concepts in the area of E-Governance through which decision making can be enhanced. Therefore, there is a need to analyze various concepts through which different problems of E-Governance can be addressed, which will be the central theme of this talk. This talk will cover various use cases where different concepts of data science have been applied and can be applied for solution development in near future.
